About Outspell

A small home for playable word games.

What this site is

outspell.online is an independent collection of browser-based word games. The home page has a turn-based Outspell-style board, and the Word Games hub links to guessing, anagram, grid, and logic games. Each game starts on its own page, with rules and strategy below the playable area.

The project is built as static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. There is no account requirement, subscription, or payment in the current site. Some games save progress and settings in your browser so a reload can continue a round when local storage is available.

How puzzles are made

Different games need different word sets. The Outspell board and its dictionary checker use the same Wordnik-derived acceptance list. Five-letter guessing games use a smaller curated answer list. Weaver uses a graph of accepted four- and five-letter words; its hints search that graph for a shortest route. Waffle grids are assembled from six crossing words and scrambled with reversible swaps.

These choices make each game's rules testable, but they also mean a word accepted in one game may be absent from another game's smaller answer set. The data notes and license for the Wordnik-derived list are included with the site source.

Independence and attribution

Game names are used to describe the kind of puzzle available here. This site does not claim to be the official version of another publisher's game. The interfaces, code, and puzzle sets were built for this project. The word list source and its MIT license are recorded in the site's data files.

Who runs the site?

This review build presents the project at the site level. A public owner biography and contact channel have not been confirmed, so no individual author or organization is named here. Those details should be added only when they can be verified before a public launch.
