What is Word Whomp?
This is an original six-letter anagram game inspired by the familiar word-finding format. Make words of at least three letters from one rack. Each tile is available once per word. You can choose a two-minute challenge or a relaxed round without a clock.
How to play
- Choose Timed or Relaxed mode.
- Tap rack tiles or type a word into the field.
- Press Enter to submit it. Accepted words appear by length and score their letter count.
- Find a six-letter word to unlock the next rack.
Timed and relaxed play
Timed mode starts a two-minute clock and ends the round when time runs out. Relaxed mode leaves the round open until you decide to continue. The same answer rules apply in both modes. Restart round keeps the letters and clears the words you found. Next round chooses another six-letter rack after you solve a full-length word.
Strategy
Begin with familiar three- and four-letter words. Search for common letter pairs, then try moving a prefix or suffix to make longer words. Shuffle the rack when the same arrangement stops giving you ideas. To find the six-letter answer, try grouping vowels and consonants in a new order.
Frequently asked questions
Can a letter tile be reused?
No. A word may use a letter only as many times as that letter appears in the rack.
Can I change modes during a round?
Yes. Changing modes restarts the current rack with a fresh word list and clock state.
Does this game use the original Pogo artwork?
No. This site uses its own design and word data.
